Leptospirosis, a bacterial infection that can cause problems in dogs has recently caused outbreaks in NYC.

This infection is transmitted by infected Rodent urine and likely tied to the recent uptick in Rat populations in NYC.

The best way to prevent this infection is to avoid exposure to Rodents/Rats, particularly rodent urine.

We have vaccines available for those dogs that are at a high risk of infection. Please call our office so we can schedule your dog to get vaccinated and protected.

Due to COVID-19 all patients must call to schedule an appointment. No Walk-ins.
For all new patients please have the registration forms filled out and with you at your appointment

Middletown Animal Clinic is committed to staying open and caring for our patients through our current Coronavirus health crisis. As of now companion animals have not gotten the human Covid-19 Coronavirus. We do recommend that if someone in the household has Coronavirus, that they should limit handling of their pet and avoid direct face contact. We are disinfecting our office several times throughout the day to keep everyone safe.

To avoid a crowded waiting or exam room, we are not allowing clients in the office. Upon arrival, please call our office and a member of our staff will take your pet into our facility for treatment. Our doctors will call you by cell phone while you wait to discuss treatment plans and diagnostics. These are the guidelines currently recommended for veterinary hospitals.

These steps will help ensure that our clients as well as our staff stays safe through these very trying and unprecedented times. We wish all of our clients and patients the best in health and well being, and we will be there for you and your pets. Be well, stay healthy, and enjoy the company of your four-legged companions.

Recently a very small number of dogs and cats have tested positive for Coronavirus. These reports again are very limited and were reported in multiple news outlets. As of now there is no known transmission of Coronavirus from domestic animals to people. This is an evolving issue and we will continue to monitor future reports. For now humans diagnosed with Coronavirus should limit their contact with their pets and avoid any face to face contact.

Note* If you have been diagnosed with Coronavirus please call the office so we can discuss your pet’s condition. Special arrangements can be made if your pet needs to be seen by our doctors.

"Great Service"

The service is excellent and the staff is friendly/ helpful. I was going to another clinic before where is was it less expensive but the service was terrible and the place was cramped and grungy. Middletown offers good service at a relatively good price. I am very satisfied with the quality of care my dogs are getting. The place is very clean and the wait times have been short. I would recommend this place to a friend.

"Kind & Loving"

Love it. They take care of animals like it’s their own. Dr. Ross is the best. So nice there.
